Tatung Einstein TC01 Diagnostic ROM
This is a diagnostic ROM for the Tatung Einstein TC01 computer that was developed by Fabrizio Di Vittorio, and helps you diagnose a faulty Tatung Einstein TC01 computer.
The Tatung will need to be partially alive to be able to use this ROM. You will need at least the following working:
– CPU and reset circuitry
– Video
– Address/databus logic
The ROM Tests the following:
- 64K dynamic RAMs (8×4164)
- PSG (AY-3-8910) and connected keyboard
- VDP (TMS9129) and VRAM
- FDC (FD1770)
- CTC (timer)
- PCI (8251 USART)
- PIO (parallel IO)
I have permission from the developer to sell this ROM.
Installation:
Remove the cover from the Tatung and install this firmware next to the current firmware.
Take note on the orientation – make sure pin 1 is correct. See photos.
Power in the Tatung and tests will immediately start.
Failed tests will be displayed on the monitor with suggestions on what IC’s are bad.
