8085 CPU Tester
This tester is used to check DIP-40 pin 8085 CPU’s from Intel/AMD/NEC
CPU Tests:
– CPU Clock runs at 3.579MHz
– Executes instructions from RAM/ROM so this tests all address and data lines and ALE
– Read/write checks to RAM
– Pulses LED on SOD line which confirms serial output data line is working.
Included:
1 x 8085 CPU Tester (The actual 8085 CPU is not included in the sale)
Usage:
Insert the 8085 CPU into the socket and make sure the orientation is correct. (Pin 1 top left)
Connect a mini USB Type B cable (not supplied) from your PC (Or 5V USB charger) to the CPU Tester.
With a working 8085 CPU the code will be executed from the ROM which pulses on the SOD LED, and then pulses on 4 LED’s. This test is repeated in a loop.
If you have a faulty 8085 either the code will not start, so no LED’s will light, or it will freeze while pulsing through the LED’s
